Avoriaz sits at 1800 m, car-free and north-facing. It has the most dependable snow in the domain, and it is what makes the difference in a difficult season.

Les Hauts Forts
1800 – 2466 m
The highest point in the Portes du Soleil. The black run and the lines around it: my ground for refining technique.
Arare and Chavanette
1800 – 2200 m
The Swiss Wall. We go when the technique is there — not before, and it is not negotiable.
Les Lindarets
1450 – 2000 m
The goat village side: gentle, sunny, ideal for linking blues without tiring.

- Confident skiers, off-piste skiers, and families at the start or end of the season when altitude counts.
- Meeting point
- At the top of the Super-Morzine gondola, or outside the tourist office if you are staying up there.
- Getting there
- Car-free resort: park at the entrance, or take the gondola from Morzine or Les Prodains.
